How does Snailbox work?

The Snailbox team sources greeting cards from independent artists and small stationery companies around the world. We then curate the cards into fun collections that are different every month, then ship them right to your doorstep.

What exactly will I get in my box?

Each month you will receive 4 assorted greeting cards, 4 matching envelopes, 4 envelope seals/stickers, and 4 USPS Forever stamps. We also include an Artist Profile card, and wrap everything up with a pretty paper band.

We use minimal packaging (and minimal plastic) to minimize our carbon footprint. This is one of the reasons our “box” is actually a lightweight paper mailer.

Why should I subscribe?

You have great taste, but lack time and resources. Maybe you don’t have great taste and you’re looking for some help in the style department. Maybe you love sending handwritten notes and can never have enough on hand.

Why does Snailbox make a great gift?

What is the cutoff date to sign up?

Sign up before the end of the month to receive next month’s box. For example, subscribe between March 1st – March 31st to receive the April Snailbox (shipped between April 10-15).

If you subscribe on March 1st, your first box will not arrive until April 15-20, which we know is a long time to wait! However, this is the best timeline we have devised over the years to ensure ordering accuracy and provide enough time for our small business partners to print, pack and ship their cards to us so we can then pack and ship to you!

How much is shipping?

Shipping is 100% free! In order to keep your subscription cost as low as possible, our mailers are shipped USPS First Class without tracking.

Where is the service available?

Snailbox is currently available in the United States only.

When will my box arrive?

We ship once per month. Our boxes are mailed between the 10th-15th of the month, and should arrive within 3-7 business days.

Past box purchased a la carte are shipped on demand.

When am I billed?

To provide you with uninterrupted service, Snailbox offers a recurring monthly subscription service. You pay for your first month upon checkout. Re-billing begins the following month, and occurs on the 25th of each month.

Gift subscriptions do not auto renew.

Are there extra fees or charges?

Nope! Shipping is FREE, we cover the sales tax, and there are no extra handling fees.

I am giving a gift subscription — How will they know it’s from me?

They’ll find out when they receive their first box, which will have your personalized message included on a Welcome insert. You can let them know your gift is on the way by downloading our Printable Gift Note, which you can print on standard 8.5x11 paper and fold into a nifty DIY greeting card.

How do I update my address or credit card info?

You can manage your recurring plan, including email, address and billing information, through your Payer Portal. Any trouble, just email us at info(at)snailboxcards.com.

My box hasn't arrived.

Once we put your box into the mail, it is in the hands of the USPS and out of our control. Please be patient, especially around holidays, and give your box the chance to make it’s snail mail-iest arrival. Our mailers are not trackable, so if your box has not arrived by the end of the month, please email us to request a replacement or refund.

In the case of inaccurate shipping addresses, we are not liable.

How do I cancel?

Snailbox subscription plans are recurring, and can be cancelled at any time. Cancellation requests must be received prior to the 25th of the month that your existing subscription plan is due to renew. For example, you must cancel by January 24th if you want your January box to be your last. If you cancel between January 25th - Feburary 24th, the February box will be your last. Cancellations only affect future billing and do not refund any payments made.

If you are having issues with your subscription, please contact us. We value customer feedback and are always happy to hear suggestions that you feel would improve our service.

Can I get a refund?

We are confident you will enjoy Snailbox! However, if you are not fully satisfied, you may return your box in its original condition for a full refund. Return shipping charges are at the customer's expense.

How do you select your artists?

Snailbox is curated by Amanda Paulson and Zach Benkowski. As practicing artists, we have our eye on the pulse of contemporary culture. We take enormous pleasure in introducing our subscribers to the many hidden gems we find in all corners of the globe.

Interested artists can submit their work to us via email at any time.

Are your contributors paid?

Yes, all of our artists are paid for their work. As professional artists ourselves, we understand how hard it can be to hustle in today’s economy, and believe in paying everyone a fair rate!
